Japanese Financial Services Agency, country’s top financial watchdog has held the first roundtable discussing cryptocurrency related issues along with other regulators from 15 countries.

“The roundtable brought together relevant financial supervisors and international organizations, providing a useful opportunity to share experiences and discuss issues of crypto-assets, which could contribute to strengthen international cooperation”, – the Agency representative told news.Bitcoin.com

The meeting dubbed ‘Roundtable on supervisory oversight of crypto-assets — recent developments and challenges going forward’ might be held on a regular base in the future, as JFSA is planning to set tight cooperation with other countries' authorities “to build on supervisory cooperation in order to prevent money laundering because of the borderlessness of crypto-assets”.

During the recent meeting, the agencies gave consideration to technological novelties and challenges that came along with them. The problem of cryptocurrency exchanges regulations lacked no attention from the watchdogs. Among other issues, the authorities discussed how to protect investors and save market integrity. Last but not least, 15 countries' representatives tried to find the best ways of joint cooperation, since at the end of the roundtable international colleagues of JFSA expressed their willingness to participate in similar roundtables in the future. However, which countries exactly took part in the discussion, the Japanese watchdog did not unveil.
