Blockchain Will Help Fight Cancer

Lancor Scientific has launched its global cancer registry that integrates its blockchain platform with an early detection cancer screening device.

The new tool provides a more economical, faster, safer and more accurate screening for cervical cancer. Experts point out that it will be a much more reliable way to diagnose than current cervical pap smear systems. The company also has no plans to dwell on this and will add more types of cancer it can screen for in 2019.

“The blockchain will validate the screening devices, unlock the patient record, write the results to the registry, take payment for the cancer tests and provide real-time screening results,” the company said.

Lancor Scientific’s Medici token allows holders to purchase cancer screening tests at any clinic using the Lancor Blockchain Platform, which works with partner Tumour Trace’s early cancer detection Opto-magnetic Imaging Spectroscopy device.

Blockchain Will Protect Gene Data

Representatives of the company are confident that their development will help people get screened earlier than ever before. As a result, patients will be able to receive the necessary treatment even before the onset of symptoms. At the same time, distributed ledger technology will provide a secure infrastructure for deploying a Lancor Scientific device and platform.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

  • It is worth noting that many experts have long been confident that blockchain will be able to help in such an undoubtedly important business as the fight against cancer. DLT is capable of storing a huge amount of data, which gives researchers the opportunity to combine millions of genomic profiles to create the critical mass necessary to detect and prevent the disease.
  • The blockchain in combination with Big Data can analyze, sort and identify potential risks to ensure preventive treatment and personalized medical care. As a result, many people will be able to fight cancer preventively before identifying its symptoms.
