British blockchain fintech startup Circulor has announced a partnership with the government of Rwanda to develop a blockchain system for tracking tantalum from the pit-face to the refinery.

Circulor CEO, Douglas Johnson-Poensgen, said in the announcement:

"Our blockchain platform will empower consumers to understand where the materials in the products they buy come from and also make it harder for materials that are not ethically sourced to pass through the supply chain."

This is not the only fintech initiative in Rwanda. Earlier this year, American actor and venture capitalist, Ashton Kutcher, donated $4 million on saving mountain gorillas in Rwanda.
