The new Instagram chief Adam Mosseri announced that Instagram will use AI to detect photos that contain trolling and bullying.
Last year, Instagram introduced an AI-based comment filter that can recognize bullying in complex contexts. The company now integrates a similar filter for photos and captions. AI will scan new photos before sending content to moderators.
A new feature will start working in the coming weeks. The launch of the AI filter coincides in time with October’s National Bullying Prevention Month in the United States and Anti-Bullying Week in the UK.
The same filter will be applied to live videos to detect offensive comments. The new feature was designed to maintain a positive Instagram reputation.
