One of the biggest e-commerce giant Alibaba steps into the blockchain

According to the U.S.Patent And Trademark Office (USPTO), Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba has filed a patent application for a system that allows a third-party administrator to intervene in a smart-contract in case of illegal activities.

The patent document published by USPTO describes a blockchain-powered transaction method that enables authorized parties to freeze or halt user accounts associated with illegal transactions.

As is was reported earlier. IBM also filed blockchain patent application for network security system which is devoted to a potential role of blockchain in monitoring security breaches within computer networks.
