According to research conducted and published by Diar, the US government’s combined total spending on blockchain analysis companies in 2018 is estimated at 5.7 million.
The majority of government spendings (38%) can be attributed to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which deals with taxes in the United States. The second place belongs to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), while the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) takes the third place in spendings.
The research by Diar also noted that the US government’s purchase orders and contracts with blockchain analysis firms have grown exponentially since the start of the year, with the greater portion of the deals having been contracted to Chainalysis, while Elliptic and CipherTrace come in second and third respectively.
