West Virginia started to use a blockchain-enabled mobile voting app to cast absentee ballots for the midterms elections.

According to local political media Slate, West Virginia has applied mobile voting application powered on blockchain for casting absentee ballots in the upcoming elections.

The application that was developed by Boston tech company Voatz, uses blockchain encryption and allows people to vote remotely and securely if a polling place or dependable mail services are unavailable.

Earlier it was reported several months ago, West Virginia was also one of the first who exercised the first blockchain assisted voting on its primary election.
