As was stated in the official Monero blog, the developers of popular cryptocurrency issued a patch that removes a dangerous bug. The malfunction of the system may lead to complete loss of funds of an organization’s wallet.
Due to the bug, the wallet that receives a burnt output will not provide a warning and spot the fraudulent activity. Therefore, a determined attacker becomes able to burn the funds of an organization's wallet whilst merely losing network transaction fees.
Monero is an open-source cryptocurrency created in April 2014 that focuses on fungibility and decentralization. Сryptocurrency remains in the top 10 on Coinmarketcap.
