According to the medium of e-Residency - Estonia government-issued digital ID powered on the blockchain, His Holiness Pope Francis, leader of the Catholic Church and Head of State of Vatican City has become the newest e-resident of Estonia.

As was stated in the article, His Holiness, as well as other e-residents, can now use his digital ID card to verify his identity online, digitally sign documents, and access Estonia’s public and private e-services.
For now, Estonia has received more than 45,000 application for e-Residency from more than 157 countries including Vatican City.
