Three blockchain and crypto-friendly bills have been announced by Congressman Tom Emmer (MN-06), the co-chair of the Congressional Blockchain Caucus.

The three bills are intended to provide a “simple legal environment,” for, in order to follow set rules, they need to be transparent, and help blockchain technology develop. Also, the protection of taxpayers that own forked cryptos is on the agenda. The congressman believes:

“The United States should prioritize accelerating the development of blockchain technology and create an environment that enables the American private sector to lead on innovation and further growth, which is why I am introducing these bills.”

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

  • Clear and accessible legislation is one of the things that most countries lack, and a move towards better defining the terms and conditions of crypto-related activities has the potential of making the life of the crypto community easier.
  • Such measures can aid the development of blockchain technology.
