Head of SpaceX and Tesla Inc. Elon Musk appealed to the creator of Dogecoin cryptocurrency, Jackson Palmer, with a request to come up with a way to deal with crypto fraud on Twitter.

In the responding tweet, Palmer said that the CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey and his team, should automate the process of combating the scam and solving the problem on their side. He also added that he sent the script to Musk in a private message.

In July, the bots began to massively comment on Elon Musk’s Twitter posts. Scammers created fake entrepreneurs’ accounts and under real Musk’s posts offered to participate in the lottery by distributing ethers.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

  • Twitter users are constantly confronted with scams in the social network. For example, this negative phenomenon has already affected the founder of Litecoin Charlie Lee, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin and other prominent participants in the crypto industry.
  • The existence of such a problem is not a secret for Jack Dorsey. Earlier in September, he said that the service is examining the possibilities of blockchain use to fight fraud.
