The World Economic Forum (WEF) foundation has offered over 65 ways of using blockchain to resolve the “most pressing” environmental matters.
Without a doubt, one of the most relevant challenges we are faced with is the ecological and environmental problems that seem not to be going anywhere, nevermind how hard we try. A report, titled “Building Block(chain)s for a Better Planet,” offers an array of ways that blockchain technology can be used in the fight to preserve our environment, and manage environmental resources. Out of the many presented solutions, eight “game changers” are offered, that have the potential of radically changing the current organization of environmental matters.
Among the “game changers” are such solutions as: “see through” supply chains, decentralized energy, and water management systems, automatic disaster preparedness and humanitarian relief, and others.
The report emphasizes the necessity of forming a united blockchain ecosystem, claiming that raising money for independent projects is insufficient.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
- We are responsible for the state of our environment and by implementing new technologies, we can attempt to rectify the wrongs that came about because of the numerous decisions made by us.
- This is just another example of the limitless potential of blockchain. The technology can be implemented in a variety of ways in any industry or sphere.
