On September 9, the largest annual marathon will be held in Lithuanian Vilnius. The Lympo Run app will award all participants with tokens.

The Lympo project team seeks to encourage people for regular and quality sports and to spread the culture of a healthy lifestyle. The mobile service collects and processes information about the physical state and activity of users, monetizing LYM tokens to achieve them.

The project only makes the first steps in the way of rethinking fitness and the sphere of healthy lifestyles with the help of a blockchain. The marathon in Vilnius will be a large-scale start of the project since it will take part up to 15,000 runners. All of them will receive LYM tokens in the application's digital wallet after the completion of various races.

"This is a beginning of a great journey for Lympo. Later this year, our app will become available in the U.S., and we will enter the Chinese market with an app rewarding for squats. I believe that this extra motivation to be healthy will inspire a lot of people around the world," said Ada Jonušė, head of the project.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

  • Representatives of the project believe that Lympo helps its users to fight obesity, which according to statistics affects up to 70% of Europeans. Thus, modern technologies contribute to a healthy lifestyle.
  • The Lympo project has already gained wide recognition due to the fact that the former head of the Estonian government, Taavi Rõivas, who served as a minister from 2014 to 2016, became chairman of the advisory board of the blockchain startup. He is sure that this is one of the most promising startups in the region.
