Not everyone is happy with the fast-growing evolution in the financial sphere. While the entire country of Venezuela is switching to cryptocurrency, Norwegian citizens prefer to stay old-school and certainly do not want to put up with the noise emanating from the mining farms. Some anonymous people threaten to blow up the Norwegian company Kryptovault, engaged in cloud mining of bitcoins, because of the noise, as well as the "sabotage of the world" that it produces.
“This is sabotage. If you are expanding crypto mining and filling the country with noise, then you will be sabotaging the peace. I am threatening to send you some explosives.” - the message said.
Threats against the company came after the regional newspaper Vakdalposten wrote about the conflict between the Kryptovault management and local residents due to constant noise from the operating mining equipment. The police and employees of the company were immediately informed of the threat of an explosion. At the same time, law enforcement agencies began their work on assessing the reality of the threat and recommended an increased vigilance to evacuate employees of the three Kryptovault units - in the cities of Follum, Honefoss and Dale - with any suspicious activity noted.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
- According to the owner of the mining equipment, the company is leasing to produce bitcoin and the easy target might become a mining farm in Dale as the one in Follum is not so easy to access.
- The owner also admitted that there had already been a conflict with the citizens of Honefoss and Dale earlier.
- Cryptocurrency mining farms usually create a lot of noise as they need powerful cooling systems. Some people who were “lucky” to have mining neighbors are even saying that they are living “as if at Helipad.”
