Telegram Messenger introduced Telegram Passport on July 26 after its first announcement made earlier in May.

Telegram Passport – First Step Towards TON

The new technology will store users’ personal documents such as IDs, drivers’ licenses, accounts and so on over a decentralized cloud. This means that the personal information will appear only when is needed, being invisible from Telegram. Moreover, whenever a system requires your documents, Telegram Passport will automatically provide them. You will only need to scan once more and that is it.

According to the company’s representatives, the mechanism for authorizing in a new service is protected by end-to-end encryption. In the future, all the information stored in Passport will be transferred to a decentralized cloud as planned by developers.

At the moment, the new system can be tested by users over ePayments.com, as it became the first service using Passport. Representatives of the Telegram instant messenger also published a guide on how to connect their account to the new authorization system.

Keep in mind that in March Telegram collected $850 million from 94 investors in the second round of the closed ICO. Prior to this, at the pre-sale stage, Telegram also attracted $850 million from 81 investors.
