John McAfee will not be appearing at the upcoming Blockchain World Conference (BWC), because of the organizers fear for his and the audience's health.

Due to legitimate death threats aimed at one of the world’s largest crypto-enthusiasts, the team behind BWC tweeted that McAfee is to stream his speech from a secure location at 11 am EST.

In June McAfee shared that he was receiving threats from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in regards to initial coin offerings (ICO's):

Not long after that McAfee was hospitalized as a result of being poisoned, claiming that his 'enemies managed to spike something that he'd ingested.' After recovering, McAfee posted that he was fine and that he knew who tried to kill him, subsequently posting a photograph of a man on a motorbike and announcing a $5,000 reward for full information about the unknown individual.

One can only hope that the crypto-giant's sharp tongue and opinions won't get him into trouble anymore and cost him his life as McAfee is a truly critical figure in the world of cryptocurrency. Besides, if anything were to happen to him, the U.S. would be left without its pro-crypto candidate in 2020.
