Google’s (NASDAQ: GOOGL) co-founder Sergey Brin, has admitted that he’s immensely interested in cryptocurrencies and that he mines ethereum alongside his 10-year-old son. The entrepreneur has confessed to this at a blockchain summit held on a private island owned by the founder of Virgin Group, Richard Branson.

Brin considers blockchain technology to have a vast potential, given that it allows users to store data and exchange documents in a safe manner. “In this sense, we are truly in a technology renaissance,” Alphabet’s president said in the past.

Brin has also expressed his admiration for the ‘zero-knowledge proof’ technology developed by zcash. He called its widespread use “mindboggling”. Currently, zcash and ethereum teams are working together on several mutual projects. Co-founder of ethereum Vitalik Buterin is looking to integrate the ‘zero-knowledge proof’ algorithm into the ethereum blockchain.

Last month, speculations began over Google ban on cryptocurrency and ICO advertisements, with some believing that the company was developing its own token. But this has not been proved just yet.
