India-based IT giant, Tech Mahindra is planning to boost blockchain research by launching Tech Mahindra BlockGeeks Program in Hyderabad as a part of its Makers Lab, United News of India reported today

As a first step, the company will train 20 candidates by supporting them to write codes, setting up smart contracts and making them blockchain adept professionals. After that Tech Mahindra is looking to be globally active in blockchain area with space innovations facilitations and creating solutions for international clients.

Rajesh Dhuddu, company’s Global Practice Leader commented, “We are targeting around 3000 blockgeeks to be trained by FY19. Our R&D arm, Makers Lab will facilitate this collaboration between academia, research and partners, so that young tech enthusiasts of today can get trained on these disruptive technologies and become future ready."

At the moment Tech Mahindra owns several Makers Labs in India, UK, Germany, and the U.S, where the next generation of technologies are developed such as AI, IoT, AR, VR, and 5G.
