Chinese technology company is launching a new blockchain integrated game, Du Yuzhou, Coindesk reported today.

Du Yuzhou, or “The Universe” in English, is a game which will let players explore space and build their own planet with “elements”, a substance like crypto tokens. Players will participate in the game by completing blockchain missions which will generate elements. With these elements, players can build their own planets. The bigger the planet, the more elements it will absorb.

"Du Yuzhou is not to launch another cryptocurrency, but a digital society experiment," the company said and didn’t share further details. The application will go live next week.

Earlier this month Xiao Wei, chief blockchain researcher at Baidu, revealed X-Chain, a protocol aimed at reducing mining energy consumption. X-Chain’s throughput is 100 thousand transactions per second (TPS). Dubbed “Super Chain”, it can “insert and remove consensus mechanisms to solve the current energy consumption problem,” Wei explained, and is also “compatible with the development system of Bitcoin and Ethereum.”
