China's Ministry of Public Security integrated a new blockchain technology based system. The goal is to upgrade existing storing evidence procedures.
Why it is important
- Current system uses Cloud Storage Process which can be easily hacked and altered;
- Due to technology shortcomings Cloud Storage Process is not supervised efficiently;
- Blockchain technology brings reliability and safety since it requires multi-signature confirmations and information is recorded with a timestamp.
China's National Audit Office is another official body that is exploring possibilities to implement blockchain technology. The new system is expected to minimize the workload and incorporate decentralized-ledger that timestamps every transaction at all levels.
