American investor, head of Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett made a new loud statement about bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin), CNBC reported.
He believes that the most popular cryptocurrency is "probably rat poison squared". Mr. Buffett expressed his opinion during the annual meeting of Berkshire Hathaway shareholders.
Billionaire investor would not consider bitcoin to be a business assets like corporate shares. In his opinion, the only factor to determine value of the main cryptocurrency is investors’ demand.
“When you’re buying non-productive assets, all you’re counting on is the next person is going to pay you more because they’re even more excited about another next person coming along,” he said.
Notably, a harsh statement like that from Warren Buffett is not a surprise. Billionaire criticized cryptocurrencies in October, 2017. He said bitcoin was a “real bubble” and implied coin offerings would end badly.
