The founder of Microsoft criticized the cryptocurrency in CNBC interview.
Bill Gates said that Bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) and ICOs are “crazier, speculative things.” He explained that when you produce nothing, you should not expect it to rise in price. He stressed that this type of investment is the so-called "theory of a bigger fool."
"I agree I would short it if there was an easy way to do it," Bill Gates said.
Recently, a similar statement was made by Warren Buffett. American investor said that Bitcoin was "probably rat poison squared".
At the same time last week Goldman Sachs announced that it will soon start trading bitcoin futures with its own money for bank’s clients.
