New lawsuit for approximately $771,000 has been filed against Japanese exchange Coincheck, Cryptona reported.
This exchange was hacked in January 26 and over $530 mln in NEM was stolen from its hot wallet storage.
All withdrawals of all cryptocurrencies were immediately frozen by the exchange right after the attack until mid-March.
Two lawsuits have already been filed against Coincheck by lawyer Hiromu Mochizuki.
The first involved 10 crypto traders who sued over the freezing of crypto withdrawals.
The second lawsuit against Coincheck was filed by the same lawyer involving 132 plaintiffs, reportedly suing for around $2 mln in damages.
Coincheck began offering refunds in Japanese yen to customers affected by the hack on March 13 at the fixed rate of around 88.5 yen (approx $0.83) to one NEM coin.
Japan’s Financial Service Agency began on-site inspections of 15 unregistered crypto exchanges in the country, filing business improvement notices to seven of them, including Coincheck. All business activities have been temporarily halted at two more exchanges.
