Binance, one of the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchanges, is offering the equivalent of $250,000 (paid in cryptocurrency) to anyone who supplies information that leads to the legal arrest of the hackers involved in the attempted hacking incident on Binance on March 7th, 2018, Bloomberg reported.
The exchange said in a statement that it has set aside the equivalent of $10,000,000 USD in crypto reserves for future bounty awards against any illegal hacking attempts on Binance.
“We have also invited other exchanges and crypto businesses to join our initiative. We welcome their participation at any time,” Binance said.
Binance said it became a target of a “large-scale phishing and stealing attempt” last week, but assured that “all funds are safe.” The exchange noted that it was unable to reverse some trades from accounts targeted by the hackers.
