Bitcoin (TIKER: BTC.EXANTE) surged above $10,000 on Thursday. The largest and most popular cryptocurrency has appreciated 7.71% over the past 24 hours to $10,046, according to CoinMarketCap.com.
Bitcoin first broke through the $10,000 barrier in November last year, and in December it hit its all-time high of nearly $20,000, but plunged by almost 70 percent in February 2018.
Other cryptocurrencies are also up as cryptocurrency market recovers from its early-February slump.
Ethereum (TIKER: ETH/USD.BITFINEX) has climbed around 2.46% to $936. The third largest cryptocurrency Ripple has gained around 7.20% to trade at $1.16.
