Mission company Life Change has officially launched 'Christ Coin', the world's first Christian cryptocurrency that aims to provide the Catholic Church its very own currency, China Christian Daily reports.

According to their statement in RNS, Life Change said "Christ Coin allows the faithful to have a way to approach finances that uniquely helps grow and support the global Christian church. Instead of dollars, consumers purchase or earn "coins" which can be used for purchasing or exchanged just like any other currency."

Aside from ease of transactions, financial rewards would also be granted for users of the cryptocurrency who take part in various Christian activities such as reading the Bible, taking part in civic groups and others.

Luke Forstmann, the co-founder of the Christian cryptocurrency, said "We like to use the L.I.V.E.S. acronym: Leave your mark on the world by supporting humanitarian efforts, Invest in a cryptocurrency, Vault your spiritual life, Earn additional income, Support the vision of your local church through tithes and offerings.”

The first sale of Christ Coin will begin on December 1st at 7:00am CT.
