Online business financial services provider Stripe has just announced it is resuming support for Bitcoin payments through a partnership with Bitcoin processor OpenNode.

From now on, Stripe users will be able to convert incoming payments and any amount of their balance into BTC. The service will be part of the public beta version of the company's new app store, whose launch is scheduled to take place soon.

OpenNode supports Bitcoin payments both on-chain and through the Lightning Network. The project team closed a $20 million funding round in February after which the company's valuation reached $220 million.

Stripe withdrew support for Bitcoin in early 2018 due to sharp price fluctuations and a long transaction confirmation times. Later, the company's CEO John Collison did not rule out the possibility of resuming crypto support in the future.
