Bitcoin Mining Difficulty Hits a New All-time High

The Bitcoin mining difficulty has experienced an increase of 4.78% as a result of latest recalculation and has reached a new all-time high at around 26.97 trillion hashes (T).

It is worth noting that according to the Bitcoin algorithm, the difficulty is recalculated every 2,016 blocks (approximately two weeks). The average hashrate has remained above 200 EH/s for the first time in this period.

According to data provided by analytics resource Glassnode, the cumulative hashrate of the Bitcoin network has reached a record 214.7 EH/s.

The indicator has returned to the values recorded in May 2021, before the start of China’s crackdown on mining.

In terms of share in the total Bitcoin hashrate, US pool Foundry USA is the leader with 17.13% (according to BTC.com). The next two positions are held by F2Pool and FntPool with 15.45% and 14.61% respectively.
