Opera has just announced the launch of Crypto Browser Project, a browser designed to work with Web 3 sphere projects.

The centerpiece of the browser is Opera's cryptocurrency wallet. Its differentiating feature is that users do not have to re-access the wallet for each new tab. Opera said in a statement:

"Our new wallet will be a step up from the wallet previously available in our browsers and will eventually replace the wallet solution in our other browsers. With the support of ETH, ERC-20, ERC-721 tokens and ERC-1155 in the pipeline for Q1, the wallet will also allow you to purchase crypto via a fiat to crypto on-ramp, swap your crypto directly in your wallet, send and receive, as well as allow you to check your wallet balance and gas fees."

Currently, the Opera wallet only works with Ethereum apps, however, it plans to add support for the Polygon and Solana networks. The company stated:

"We believe that browsers will play a bigger role in Web 3.0 than in Web 2.0. We have been working with Web 3.0 for about 25 years. A multi-chain token strategy will be key to a good user experience."

Crypto Browser Project is available in open beta for Windows, macOS and Android devices. The browser also has built-in features, including news, a calendar of events and airdrops, NFTs, crypto price information, fees and market sentiment.
