Tesla has started to allow its customers to pay for some of its products with Dogecoin.

The items available for purchase with Dogecoin are listed on the company’s Lifestyle page. These include a belt buckle, the Tesla Cybertruck-inspired Cyberwhistle and a version of the Cyberquad for kids. The USD payment option is not shown for these items.

When the payment page is accessed, the Dogecoin address, QR code and payment amount are displayed. The interface is identical to the one used by the company when it accepted Bitcoin as a payment method in March 2021. Tesla's website states:

"Tesla only accepts Dogecoin… Non-Dogecoin digital assets sent to Tesla will not be returned to the purchaser."

The company's CEO Elon Musk has confirmed on Twitter the addition of the new payment method.

The Cyberwhistle whistles had already sold out, however, the Cyberquad is still available for 12,020 DOGE ($2,400).

After the news broke, the price of DOGE has risen 16% over the past day to $0.20, staying near the highs of the month.
