Charles Hoskinson: Ethereum Network's Transition to PoS is Overdue

According to Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, the transition of the Ethereum network to the proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus algorithm has come late.

Hoskinson has reacted in this way to claims by developer Evan Van Ness, who has expressed what he called the unpopular opinion that The Merge could have taken place earlier.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has agreed with the latter and has noted the team could realize its plans on the basis of NXT in 2018.

According to Hoskinson, the ETH network should have implemented the Snow White protocol, which was one of the first to provide comprehensive formal proofs of the security of PoS-based algorithms.

The Cardano founder said back in 2020 that his ideas for technical updates to the Ethereum network since 2014 were better than those implemented by developers at the time.
