Brian Peter George St John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno, 73, a pioneer of ambient music, has criticized the craze about non-fungible tokens (NFTs) saying NFTs are just a way for artists "to get a little piece of the action from global capitalism." In an interview with Crypto Syllabus, Eno said he does not get what cryptocurrencies have brought into the world that makes any difference to anything "other than some strings of numbers moving about in some bank accounts."

"I want to know what is changing, what is being made different, what is helping, what is moving? I do not see any answers to that question," Eno said.
Speaking about NFTs, Eno described his own term of libertarians who define what is right and what is not for the world. He says these people follow the so-called "automaticism" ideology where people would rather rely on a market-driven and uncontrolled things that will automatically get a better result than you would by tinkering with it. He added:
"The people who hold beliefs of this kind do not have any qualms about tinkering themselves but just want a situation where nobody else gets to tinker. Especially the state."
He also added that nothing has convinced him to make anything NFT-related so far that would be worth anything as he personally considers NFT fans as "little capitalist assholes." So far, Eno mainly sees "hustlers looking for suckers" in the cryptocurrency market.
