The annual awards ceremony of The Game Awards took place in the computer games industry.
Red Dead Redemption 2 managed to collect the largest number of awards, winning in four nominations. However, the game of the year was still God of War. And although Red Dead Redemption 2 did not become the winner of the year, it managed to become at least the most discussed one in 2018.
The founder of the studio NetherRealm Ed Boone said that already on April 23 Mortal Combat 11 will be released. The game will be presented on the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The show will take place on January 17, and for now the trailer has already been released.
Far Cry: New Dawn will be available from February 15. This will be a spin-off, continuing the events of Far Cry 5. The game will also be presented on Xbox One, PC, and PS4.
Good news came for fans of "Very strange things", a game based on the series was announced at the Game Awards. Playing the game will be available on all platforms, but the release date has not yet been named.
Another surprise event was the announcement of the new Marvel game — a continuation of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. The development of the project involved authors of Ninja Gaiden and Nioh from the studio Team Ninja, and Nintendo will act as its publisher. The release date remains unknown, and you can play it only on the Nintendo Switch.
It is worth noting that Shawn Layden, Phil Spencer, and Reggie Fils-Aimé — the heads of PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo, respectively — took the stage. They talked about the fact that the gaming industry is strongest in those moments when they do not howl among themselves, but join forces. Some people seem to have something to learn from them.
The show kicks off with a celebration of our unified gaming community. It’s an amazing time for gamers everywhere and #TheGameAwards is a great celebration of that. We hope everyone watching with us enjoys the show!https://t.co/gZdCzbW5NH pic.twitter.com/SI7DpdclR1— Nintendo of America (@NintendoAmerica) December 7, 2018
