Are you a grown-up, who is still waiting for that special letter from Hogwarts? Don’t worry! You're not the only one who thinks that the carrier owl had a bit too much of the butterbeer and now it’s just lost. Do not despair! If you’re reading this text, it means that the most magical of the muggle market - the cryptocurrency one - is intimately familiar. You buy crypto, you study the market, or you even earn from it. But here, the hats don’t speak (and that's fine!), and what’s more, they don’t decide anything.

But what if there was Hogwarts in our crypto-reality? Then you would surely be in one of these houses:

Gryffindor

Courage, daring, and chivalry. Ideal-oriented investor.

You believe in cryptocurrencies as an idea, free transactions, democracy and maybe even libertarian basics. The current crash is just a spiral turn for you and you insist we’ll definitely see higher prices soon, very soon. Frankly speaking, your awareness brought you such great benefits in 2017 that you can officially be an optimist.

Heads of Crypto Gryffindor House: The Winklevoss Brothers

As the representatives of fire element they are very enthusiastic but at the same time tend to be impatient. Urgent in pursuit of goals, Winklevoss brothers have twice failed to get the approval of their Bitcoin-ETF but this misfortune didn’t stop them. Winklevoss brothers, together with three other exchanges, declared the formation of the Virtual Commodity Association that might become a prototype of the self-regulating association of cryptocurrency exchanges in the U.S.

Hufflepuff

Fairness, loyalty, tolerance and hard work. Theory-oriented and cautious investor.

You might be a hodler and usually you don’t invest in cryptocurrencies beyond top-10. Such cautiousness can be beneficial and bring positive results: you lose not so much as those fools who invested on hype. Deep down in your soul you’re still doubting whether cryptocurrency is not a bubble, that’s why you’re loyal to your chosen strategy: the lesser you take the risk, the longer you’re saving.

Head of Crypto Hufflepuff House: John McAfee

Remember when this guy announced that he is ready to pay compensation to anyone who is able to crack his cryptocurrency wallet Bitfi? McAfee called it "unhackable" and offered skeptics to test this personally by paying $250,000. Or what’s even more intense, he bet on his own penis if bitcoin doesn’t reach 1,000,000 by the end of 2020. This can only be done by someone of the Earth element, who has his feet on the ground but his eyes on the prize.

Ravenclaw

Wit and intelligence. Methodical and fact-oriented investor.

You like facts and your investment portfolio is well-balanced, where cryptocurrencies are just a bit. All the steps you take are based on a detailed, Nobel Prize-worthy market research. You’re probably one of those few, who are able to legally make good money even during a falling market.

Head of Crypto Ravenclaw House: Vitalik Buterin

Thi guy is a typical example of the Air element. Young and genius, at the age of 18, he presented Ethereum’s white paper. Seeing all sides of the equation and being able to glean the best approach, Vitalik employed a more robust scripting language than Satoshi Nakamoto. And so, Etherium turned into the most admired blockchain technology for Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and Decentralized Applications (DApps).

Slytherin

Cunning, aspirations and ruthlessness. Ambitious individualist and action-oriented investor.

Come on, dude, just admit you’ve already done an ICO! If not, you gotta find yourself better and higher, oh yeah, also change your major.

Head of Crypto Slytherin House: Adam Back

As always, you don’t hear much from the Slytherin House, so it’s not surprising if this name doesn’t appear as often as let’s say the aforementioned Buterin. However, never underestimate the ones in the shadow, or else they will turn into a Voldemort. So, who is Adam Back? We all know that Satoshi Nakamoto created the concept of a blockchain and started a crypto revolution. While Satoshi remains anonymous, Adam Back is a real guy, a British cryptographer, who invented the Hashcash protocol influencing the Bitcoin’s proof of work algorithm. That’s why, as a representative of water element, Back and others tend to be secretive and private. Such people are intelligent and competent. They have a good memory and always think twice before they act.
