North American mining companies, including Riot Blockchain, Bitfarms and Marathon Digital, are facing problems procuring hardware due to disruptions in global logistics, The Block repots.
Early last month, Texas-based Riot Blockchain announced it had received 2,000 AntMiner S19J Pro ASIC miners in late September. Another 4,000 devices were shipped to the company from Bitmain's plant in Malaysia in early October.
However, according to the company’s report, in one month its equipment pool, which had 25,646 miners at the end of September, has only increased by 1,624 units.
The company expects to receive the 11,500-unit AntMiner S19J Pro batch in November.

Canada-based Bitfarms, meanwhile, planned to receive 7,230 units of Bitmain's AntMiner S19J Pro in September-December. The first batch of 2,200 miners was expected by the end of September, but the company received only 540 devices.
By the end of October, Bitfarms had deployed 2,869 S19j Pro units, 40% of the expected delivery volume.
As of September 1, Marathon Digital had ordered 111,416 units of the AntMiner, the delivery of which should be completed by the end of June 2022. This assumes it should receive an average of 11,000 units per month, but in the first month of the fall the company received only 5,400 miners.
