Swiss online financial institution Dukascopy Bank SA. is airdropping its own crypto, called Dukascoin (DUK+), the official announcement states.
Thus, Dukascoin accepts a challenge, that was initiated by Japanese Mizuho Bank, which is also launching its own token.
"We accept the challenge and move the date of the launch to the 28th of February - one day in advance. We believe that our great team developing this project for many months with incredible enthusiasm deserves to be the first worldwide," the announcement notes.
The head of Dukascopy Bank, Andre Duka, says the Dukascoin’s uniqueness "is not about the blockchain design complexity."
"We have intentionally meant it to remain unsophisticated, for which we have picked a popular ERC-20 standard on the Ethereum blockchain and the Airdrop concept of token distribution," he added.
It’s worthy to remind that Dukascopy Bank is the financial partner of a Luxembourg-based crypto exchange — Bitstamp.
