It seems that bitcoin ETF won't be coming soon. The Chicago Board Options Exchange’s (CBOE) BZX Equity Exchange has canceled its request for a rule change by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to list and trade shares of SolidX Bitcoin Shares issued by the VanEck SolidX Bitcoin Trust.

The reason for this decision is still unknown.

The published announcement on the official website of the SEC states that the proposed rule change was published for comment in the Federal Register on July 2, 2018. Later, on December 6, 2018, the Commission designated a longer period for Commission action on the proposed rule change.

Bitcoin-ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) is a traded fund on the basis of bitcoin. Bitcoin-ETF allows the investor to buy a valuable paper for possession of bitcoin, and at the same time avoid worrying about safety and risks of hacking. Investors are protected in this case.
