Towards the end of the second quarter, the size of bitcoins blockchain has risen to nearly 170 Gb. Every single quarter this amount grows by around 12Gb.
Recently, Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has confirmed that bitcoin can ‘break’ the internet. According to their calculations by 2020, the size of the blockchain will grow by 588 times and will exceed 100 Tb, if the retailers will adopt it as part of the payment system.
