Chart of the Day: How Quickly Bitcoin Price Changes

The price of Bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) has been very volatile in March. The price has fluctuated wildly, raising and falling by almost $1,000 within 24 hours.

Below are some of the most vivid examples of volatility for this month (opening price → closing price, change per day).

March 1: $10 385 → $10 951 (+$566)
March 6: $11 500 → $10 780 (-$720)
March 7: $10 804 → $9966 (-$833)
March 8: $8853 → $9579 (+$726)
March 14: $9214 → $8270 (-$944)
March 18: $7890 → $8224 (+$334)

But if you look at the graph of volatility of Bitcoin, it becomes clear: such fluctuations are far from the limit. In July and December last year, the daily volatility of the price of cryptocurrency exceeded 20% (then it was growing). And in September the figure exceeded 17% (the cryptocurrency was falling at the time).
