The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed its decision regarding Bitcoin ETF, which was filed by Bitwise Asset Management on January 10.

Bitwise Asset Management is a cryptocurrency-focused index fund which was launched back in 2017 by Hunter Horsley.

The proposed Bitwise Bitcoin ETF would track the Bitwise Bitcoin Total Return Index, seeking to capture the full value of an investment in bitcoin, inclusive of meaningful hard forks.

As it states, the Commission finds it appropriate "to designate a longer period within which to take action on the proposed rule change so that it has sufficient time to consider the proposed rule change."

The next date when the Commission should either approve or disapprove the ETF is set on May 16, 2019.
