SWIFT & Ripple Partnership Rumor Denied

Payment industry giant SWIFT’s spokesperson clearly put an end to the rumors, which suggested a partnership with Ripple.

Currently SWIFT is upgrading its protocols to a new platform called SWIFT GPI. This upgrade also heated up such rumors, claiming a possible integration of RippleNet and xRapid payment solution based on XRP cryptocurrency into the SWIFT system, which would make them available to 4,000 banks worldwide. Additionally, the participation of Ripple in a recent SWIFT Sibos conference in Sydney was also perceived as an argument in favor of the above version.

Are Winklevoss “Dead Wrong” About Shrem?

An early follower of bitcoin, Charlie Shrem, denies his involvement in the theft of 5,000 bitcoins from Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, as per a recently published court document.

According to the statement that was filed on Monday, November 5 at the District Court for the Southern District of New York, Shrem believes that the Winklevoss’ charges against him are “dead wrong." He also asked the court to unfreeze certain assets that had been frozen in accordance with a previous order.

SIM Swapping – Priority for American Police

The fight against the ‘SIM swapping’ is becoming one of the priorities for the U.S. law enforcement officials. In an interview to KrebsonSecurity, Samy Tarazi, the head of REACT anti-cybercrime task force, said that the number of fraud cases committed this way had increased dramatically.

‘SIM swapping’ is a scam in which a cellular provider is mislead to transfer the control over a victim’s phone number to the attacker's SIM card. Once the number is in the hands of the hacker, he uses it to reset the victim's password and crack his accounts, including mail and access to cryptocurrency exchanges.
