China Forces Blockchain Startups to Play by Rules

Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), the main Internet censor of the Chinese government, drafted a law establishing rules for regulating activities of blockchain companies.

Before officially introducing the rules, the agency plans to receive feedback from the public. Citizens and representatives of the blockchain industry can leave their comments on the draft law titled "The Regulation for Managing Blockchain Information Services". The authors of the regulatory framework accept public suggestions until November 2. The new requirements will apply to any blockchain service provider in China.

Hackers Attack “Next-Generation” Crypto Exchange

The cryptocurrency exchange Trade.io, which calls itself “the next-generation blockchain-based financial trading platform”, lost 50 million of its own TIO tokens as a result of a hacker attack.

The attackers broke into the cold wallet of the project and stole tokens that were allocated to the liquidity pool, worth a total of $8 million at the current rate. Hackers managed to cash out part of the stolen digital currency through the Kucoin and Bancor sites, which have frozen the current trading of these assets at the request of the owner.

Swissquote Online Bank Backs ICOs

Swissquote, the Switzerland-based online banking service has announced that it became the first bank in the world that allows its clients an option to participate in the ICO.

“Thanks to contributions starting at 33 Swiss francs, clients can participate without being required to invest large sums into venture capital or private equity funds," Marc Bürki, the CEO of Swissquote commented on the new opportunity.

The first ICO listed on Swissquote will be LakeDiamond, powered by EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne), which is focused on Chemical Vapour Deposition reactors. CVD reactors are producing the purest of diamonds in laboratory conditions.

  • Leader in financial services Visa, announced fresh details of the Blockchain-based service that offers digital identity. The company plans to launch Visa B2B Connect in the first quarter of 2019.
  • Bank of Japan (BOJ) Deputy Governor Masayoshi Amamiya said that the BOJ “has no plan to create its own digital currency.
  • One of the most popular cryptocurrency exchanges in the world Binance has announced transferring of 1 million ethereum (ETH) between its cold wallets. Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao explained the move.
  • Tronbet, a TRON-backed dApp paid out at least 200 million TRX to the winners among its users. dApp was launched a week ago and now has about 180 thousand transactions per day.
