This week was very eventful for the ICO community. Regulators all around the world once again placing their watchful eyes on startups - as some of them decided to give ICO campaigns a chance, but the SEC is still ruthless and immovable.

UAE Consider ICOs to Boost Capital Markets
The United Arab Emirates plans to introduce ICO regulations at a legislative level in 2019. The government wants to provide companies with a new way to raise additional capital for their projects. The Securities and Commodities Authority is developing a legislative framework for ICO in collaboration with international consultants and working on trading platforms.
EU Regulator Put an Eye on ICOs
The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) decided to review ICOs to determine how to regulate such fundraising model. The main goal of ESMA is to understand whether ICOs comply with securities regulations or not and to assess their impact on competition in fundraising sector.
South Korea to Revise ICO Ban
According to the head of the office for government policy coordination official of South Korea, in November 2018 the government will decide whether it will allow ICO activity in the country again or not. This statement was made during the annual audit of the National Assembly on government actions. Currently the South Korean Financial Services Commission (FSC) is conducting ICOs survey.
SEC Affects Hundreds of Blockchain Startups
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has expanded its suppression of ICOs. SEC’s activity has put hundreds of projects and startups in the United States at risk. ICOs were accused of violating securities law, despite their desire to follow the rules. Many of them didn’t know how to satisfy the demands of the Commission.
