Google Makes Concessions, Some Crypto Ads Allowed
The corporation will allow the placement of ads for exchanges from Japan and the U.S. as well as licensed companies. In October 2018, Google will update the rules for advertising financial services. The changes will affect ads related to cryptocurrencies. The сorporation will allow advertising to licensed blockchain projects and regulated exchanges from Japan and the U.S. The company will have to pass a special certification for the country in which it will be allowed to place an ad. Applications will be accepted immediately after the new rules come into force. The corporation did not disclose the criteria for selecting ads and other details of the certification process.
Coinbase Opens Doors For New Altcoins
The leading U.S. currency exchange, Coinbase, introduced official rules for listing new digital assets, and also suggested to the project creators a tool with which they can submit relevant applications.
To date, there are only five cryptocurrencies available on the exchange - BTC, BCH, LTC, ETH, and ETC. All the approved sites had to go through many instances before getting there. Therefore, the news about listing altcoins was a big surprise. Coinbase did not specify its criteria for the listing, but it is likely to prioritize coins that are deemed to be decentralized, whose property is not concentrated in the hands of the project founders and that are unlikely to be classified as safe.
Monero Extinguishes the 'Burning Bug' Today
Developers of the cryptocurrency Montero have eliminated a bug that could allow intruders to "burn" funds in organizations' wallets while sacrificing only a modest amount in the form of transaction commissions.
Identifying the bug has been made possible thanks to a scenario of a hypothetical attack described by one of the users on the Monero subreddit. A participant asked what would happen if you sent a lot of transactions to the so-called stealth address. In an attempt to answer the question, the developers discovered a vulnerability in the monero code. The stealth address is one of the methods for ensuring the confidentiality of transactions in monero. With its help, the recipient can receive an unlimited number of public payments for one published address which will not be tracked.
