This week turned into a difficult one for the ICO community, the situation in the market is unstable, regulators are tightening the conditions for ICO campaigns, startups have more difficulties in raising fund for their ideas.

Cofound Closes as ICO Market Situation Deteriorates:

Developers of Cofound platform have closed its ICO. The project team explained its decision with the unsatisfactory situation on the ICO market, which does not justify investors' expectations. Nevertheless, during the presale in 2017, project managed to attract $12.5 million.

Bank of China warns investors of ICOs:

The People's Bank of China (PBoC) once again urged investors to refrain from participation in ICOs. The statement was published by the Shanghai branch of the bank. The document calls investors not to participate in token sale of foreign startups and "to avoid speculative trade with cryptocurrencies." In China, conducting an ICO is defined as illegal criminal activity.

Australia Strikes Out Five ICOs in Six Months:

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) strengthens control over cryptocurrencies and ICOs. Since April 2018, the Аgency has stopped five ICO campaigns. These ICOs were blocked due to a lack of measures to protect investors. According to the Commission an investigation is also being conducted in regard to one completed ICO. The representative of the Commission stated that in Australia there are certain problems within the ICO field such as unregistered schemes of work and lack of licenses for some startups.
