Cboe Will launch Ethereum Futures in Coming Months
The Chicago options and futures exchange Cboe intends to launch ethereum futures by the end of the year. The exchange will focus on the market indicators of Gemini platform when servicing deals. The Chicago options exchange used indicators of the same platform when launching bitcoin futures in December of last year. Now the permission for this activity is expected from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

Police of Japan Will Receive a Budget to Track Crypto Transactions
National Police of Japan plans to start using special software to track history of cryptocurrency transactions. For this purpose, the department's budget in 2019 can be increased by $315 thousand (35 million yen). The police takes this step as a response to the growing use of virtual currencies for illegal purposes.

Crypto To Replace Korean Province’s Currency
A province in South Korea is blueprinting the idea of issuing its very own crypto that will take the place of a local currency in nine cities. An exchange will be created for the new crypto. Within the province, QR codes will be used for the crypto payments.
A local newspaper reported that the province of Gyeongsangbuk-do of South Korea is planning to adopt crypto. Nine cities in the province, also referred to as Gyeongbuk have city-issued gift certificates that work as currency in certain areas of the province. This isn’t unique only to the Gyeongbuk province, as reportedly 60 cities in Korea have a similar program that is intended to reboot the local economy.

- The province is planning to exchange its local currency to crypto, suggesting the region is trying to get a degree of economic freedom and independence from the state.
- One of the larger regions in South Koreas with a population of over 2,5 million people will have crypto circulating in almost all of its cities.
Thailand Claims Crypto Crime Free Status
Concerns regarding a potential rise in crypto crime bring together experts to discuss these matters in a joint seminar with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The executive director of the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ), Kittipong Kittayarak, speaking at the “Advancing the Economy and Combating Crime in the Digital Age: Cryptocurrency and Crime” seminar, claimed to be aware that the crypto crime in Thailand was not currently a serious issue.

Unhackable Bitfi Hacked by Teenager, McAfee Surrenders
The Bitfi wallet, which John McAfee considered invulnerable, has been hacked… by a 15-year-old. The teenager, Saleem Rashid, got access to the so called unhackable wallet. He posted a video on Twitter, which shows the extraction of a secret phrase and the "salt” value. These elements are needed to generate a private key.
Soon after Saleem Rashid published on Twitter a proof of Bitfi hacking, developers of the crypto wallet published a response message in their official microblog. They reported that they hired an experienced information security specialist who confirmed the existence of vulnerabilities. Next week, developers promise to issue an official statement and fix the problems. A bug bounty program is immediately closed. Apparently, the promised reward will not be paid to anyone.
