Playboy to Entertain Blockchain Company in Court
About five months ago, Playboy Enterprises, the parent company of Playboy Magazine, announced that it would begin accepting payments in cryptocurrency. Playboy TV decided to provide access to exclusive content for adults using the Vice Industry Token (VIT) as a type of payment. They also planned to issue a special cryptocurrency wallet by the end of this year. Starting with VIT, the company expected to expand its list of accepted cryptocurrencies and the ability to pay for other business directions, including games, supplemented and virtual reality. To integrate blockchain technology into Playboy media channels, the company entered into a contract with Global Blockchain Technologies (GBT), a well-known British cryptocurrency company. But it seems that the cooperation was not successful, and Playboy sued the GBT for failure to comply with the contract, as well as for a failure to pay $4 million under the contract.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
1. Considering the high prices associated with payments via credit cards — usually between 4-7% — and improved transactional anonymity associated with cryptocurrency assets, accepting payments in digital currency is a reasonable move for entertainment brands.
2. Other major adult websites, Brazzers and Pornhub, have already started accepting cryptocurrency as payments.
Chinese Aerospace Bet on Blockchain for Tax Invoices
Chinese State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence has published an article, describing how the blockchain technology can be utilized to supervise tax invoices nationwide. Last year’s statistics show that 1,31 billion of invoices were in circulation while it is predicted that the number will grow up to 54 billion in just 4 years time.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
1. The existing system faces intractable hurdles, including over-reporting, false-reporting, and traceability issues in the process of invoice circulation in such cases the only solution to solve these problems and to make the system more efficient for China’s Aerospace is to transfer all the work to the blockchain.
2. According to a recently unveiled report by Accenture, at least 86% of Aerospace and Defence companies will implement blockchain into their systems by 2021.

Kaspersky Warns: Scams are Everywhere
Kaspersky Lab, a cybersecurity company, released a second-quarter report stating that crypto fraudsters managed to steal more than $2,3 million through the crypto scams. In the ‘Spam and Phishing in Q2 2018’ report, Kaspersky claims of preventing around 60,000 attempts to redirect users to fraudulent pages from April to June this year. Most attackers managed to get the users' money through fake ICOs and fraudulent services, masquerading as popular wallets or exchanges.
The most popular way chosen by fraudsters to gain access to cryptocurrency is to announce the giveaways under the name of the celebrity. For this, they create a fake account of the popular person, sometimes using earlier verified accounts with a later changed name.
According to the statistics gathered by Kaspersky 2018 Q2 nearly a quarter (21.1%) of attacks was aiming at banks. E-shops became the second popular target (8.17%), while payment systems were chosen by fraudsters in 6.43% of the cases. The report also notes that the biggest amount of the most phishing scams are happening in Asia and South America. For example, in Brazil, attempts to commit phishing attacks were recorded in 15.51% of users. The second place is shared by China and Georgia (14.44%), followed by Kyrgyzstan (13.6%) and Russia (13.27%).
Thousands of Bitcoins Land to BitMEX Wallet
Just after Bitcoin brushed a $6,000 barrier, a large number of BTC, 18,000 of them to be precise, has been hauled from 17 different wallets to one related to BitMEX. It is still not clear where did all these coins come from and what were the motives.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
1. It is possible that these coins came from cold wallets of BitMEX since most crypto exchanges keep assets in offline wallets and bring them on the table when they forecast a substantial change in the market and raise its liquidity.
2. Even though there is a “3BMEX” prefix at the majority of wallets related to BitMEX, the activity may be not connected with the exchange’s actions. Although it would be a rational idea, considering the number of coins involved in the transaction.
