Five Nation Anti-Crypto Tax Fraud Army Revealed

Tax services in the US, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and the UK will now cooperate in a new alliance designed to combat “the growing threat to tax administrations posed by cryptocurrencies and cybercrime and to make the most of data and technology”. The new collaboration is dubbed “J5” and includes government officials of global tax enforcement whose goal will be to strengthen international control over cryptocrimes. Tax authorities of the five countries will work together to gather and exchange information, conduct joint investigations and operations, expand each other's opportunities through innovative technologies, and increase the capacity of tax crime enforcement officials.

Binance Halts Trading After Offbeat Transaction

Binance, a leading cryptocurrency exchange experienced an unusual transaction which eventually led to system-wide maintenance. There are no official announcements regarding the incident. However, data from Binance exchange shows an extraordinary transaction at the pair SYS/BTC, with an incredible price of 96BTC. On average, 1 SYS token trades for 0.00004 BTC, meaning this specific transaction was made for a price which is 2,5 million times higher. Later Binance has published the incident report regarding the irregular trading. According to it, at 20:18:00 (UTC) on 2018/07/03, irregular transactions were flagged by their internal risk management system, leading to the suspension of trading.

Six Giants to Utilise IBM's Blockchain Cloud

The technology giant IBM (NYSE: IBM) has recently announced the collaboration with the 6 giant European companies. As such, Koopman Logistics, Crédit Mutuel, Teckel Medical, Osram AG, Gruppo 24 Ore and RS Components will use IBM Cloud to implement AI, blockchain and analytics technologies in their work.

South Korea Probe Crypto Exchanges On Personal Data Use

Regulators of South Korea, Korea Communications Commission and the Korea Internet & Security Agency have announced the launch of an investigation into the handling of personal information for crypto exchanges. The investigation is based on the opinion that there are concerns about personal information infringements by the recent successful hacker attacks targeting virtual money. The investigation covers crypto exchanges with a large number of users as well as financial institutions distributing apps for shopping, travel, and real estate.

India's Mahindra Pushes For Blockchain

India-based IT giant, Tech Mahindra is planning to boost blockchain research by launching Tech Mahindra BlockGeeks Program in Hyderabad as a part of its Makers Lab. The company will train 20 candidates by supporting them to write codes, setting up smart contracts and making them blockchain adept professionals. After that Tech Mahindra is looking to be globally active in blockchain area with space innovations facilitations and creating solutions for international clients.

Turcoin Schemers Imprisoned

A Turkish court has found two men behind the Turcoin cryptocurrency ‘Ponzi scheme’ guilty of fraud, they have now been sent to prison. Last month, Turkish police have apprehended Muhammet Satıroğlu and Sadun Kaya for investigations in cities of Eskişehir and Kocaeli in Turkey, but soon they were released with a signed undertaking not to leave the country before the court ruling.
