Facebook Revises Crypto Ad Ban

With the newly updated policy, starting from June 26 Facebook will allow cryptocurrency related ads from approved sources. However, the announcement says clearly that ICOs are still not permitted to advertise. Now, advertisers must fill an application form for Facebook to confirm the eligibility of the ad and declare what kind of content (cryptocurrency product and services, education, or industry news) they are advertising as well as providing their business details.

Cryptoexchange Bitkoex Disclose Client Information

An employee of the South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bitkoex has shared on an unencrypted group chat containing private information on 19 company’s clients, putting around $650,000 worth of digital currency at risk. The shared information contained the amount of (KRM) Karma cryptocurrency held on each exposed 19 accounts, user’s email addresses, private keys and wallet addresses. Bitkoex however, says that the information was shared due to a mistake and that all assets were immediately transferred to a cold wallet, adding that nothing was lost.

Philippines Will Open Regulated ICO Zone

Special economic zone in the north of Philippines - the country that converts around $40 million of cryptocurrency per month, will start allowing the creation of asset-backed ICOs – initial coin offerings for the blockchain-based projects. Through this initiative, the government looks to combat fraud and Ponzi schemes.
