Microsoft & EY Push Revolutionary Blockchain-Based System
Microsoft is set to offer a blockchain-based system to authors and software developers to collect their royalty payments on, creating an unalterable ledger across various PC’s. The new system will be capable of processing millions of transactions per day while reducing the processing time for a single transaction from 45 days to just one.
Zcash Split Avoided
Zcash which is preparing for an upgrade of its system has just avoided a big scandal among its ranks. D. Jane MercerWeiss the only Zcash Windows wallet software maintainer voiced his unhappiness with core developers, saying he was well underpaid.
The community seemingly rallied together to help out D.Jane. According to him, 80 ZEC (approximately $15,000) have appeared on his account overnight, with a single “large anonymous zaddr donation” making up the majority of the sum.
Huobi to List Waves
One of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Huobi has announced a new listing. Cryptocurrency WAVES has appeared on the platform June 22 and is available in pairs with bitcoin and ethereum. Currently, deposits and trading are among available options, while withdrawal opportunity will be to access from 16:00, June 24, 2018 (GMT+8). It must be noted that WAVES is now being listed on top-3 largest crypto exchanges although it’s only a 42nd largest cryptocurrency at the time of writing.
Quebec Crypto Miners to Bid for Electricity
Hydro-Quebec, a Canadian-based energy provider has unveiled a selection process for the blockchain companies. The miners will now have to bid for electricity. This was done because of high demand for energy by cryptocurrency mining operations
Rapper Akon Launches Own Crypto
Grammy-nominated Senegalese-American rapper Akon introduced his own cryptocurrency, Akoin. Apart from his stage profile, Akon is spearheading an energy movement in more than 18 countries across Africa with his solar-powered ‘Lighting Africa’ project. Also, an African Crypto-City is under development on a land gifted to Akon by the President of Senegal, in parallel to Akoin and company website calls it “A Real-life Wakanda”.
